  • “Gallows Hill”, Darcy Coates - does a good job at establishing a sense of creeping dread. Planning to seek our more by the author.

  • “Small Spaces”, Katherine Arden - part 1 of Small Spaces series. Loved this middle grade horror series.

  • “Dark Waters”, Katherine Arden - part 3

  • “Empty Smiles”, Katherine Arden - part 4

  • “Shutter”, Ramona Emerson - really enjoyed this one

  • “The Last Mapmaker”, Christina Soontornvat - fantasy inspired by Thai mythology

  • “Ember and the Ice Dragons”, Heather Fawcett - loved Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries. Figured her writing style would lend itself well to middle grade and we enjoyed this one.
